Professor Emerita

Ágnes Heller was a philosopher, Professor Emerita at the Department of Aesthetics of ELTE and Hannah Arendt Visiting Professor of Philosophy and Political Science at The New School in New York. She has been awarded the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Philosophy, the Szechenyi National Prize in Hungary, the Sonning Prize, and the Goethe Medal. Her main research focuses were on aesthetics, ethics, existentialism and political philosophy, in particular on the works of Hegel, Marx, Lukács.
