Dr. Pyle got her PhD at Columbia University, she worked together with P. O. Kristeller for years. Her publications include Das Tierbuch des Petrus Candidus (Zurich, 1984.) and Milan and Lombardy in the Renaissance: Essays in Cultural History (Rome, 1997.)
