Dr Judit Bartha

Assistant Professor

Judit Bartha graduated in Hungarian Literature, Linguistics, and Philosophy at the University of Pécs in 2000, Drama in Education at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in 2018. She received her PhD in philosophy in 2006 at Eötvös Loránd University Budapest. Her dissertation dealt with Søren Kierkegaard’s aesthetics in relation to E. T. A. Hoffmann and German early Romanticism. From 2003 to 2004 she studied at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, between 2004–2008 she taught as research assistant at the Department of Philosphy at the University of Pécs. She joined the Department of Aesthetics of Eötvös Loránd University as assistant professor in 2008. Her main research interests are the philosophy of German Romanticism, relations between romantic, postmodern and contemporary arts, in particular the phenomena of authorship, the comic, the fantastic, and the gothic.
